Mississippi Man Sentenced on Drug Charges

JACKSON, MS—Tommy Butler, 41, of Ruth, Mississippi, was sentenced in U.S. District Court on May 6, 2011 to serve eight years and four months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine, cocaine hydrochloride, and marijuana, U.S. Attorney John M. Dowdy, Jr. announced. He was also ordered to pay a $1500 fine. Butler pled guilty to the charge on February 3, 2011.
This case was jointly investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and the Southwest Mississippi Narcotics Unit.
