Mississippi Man Sentenced for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

JACKSON, MS—Maurice McMillan, Jr., age 25, of Philadelphia, Mississippi, was sentenced in U.S. District Court today to serve 54 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for stabbing an elderly married couple belonging to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, U.S. Attorney John Dowdy announced. The offense occurred within the boundaries of the Tribal Lands of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Pat Lemon.
