INDIANAPOLIS—Josh J. Minkler, Acting United States Attorney, announced today that Kathleen Ann Owens, 30, a resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, was sentenced to prison today by U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton-Pratt for her methamphetamine distribution activity in Indianapolis. Owens was sentenced to 270 months= (over 22 years) imprisonment following her guilty plea to two counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Owens was also fined $1,000 and sentenced to three years of supervised release.

On March 3, 2014, the Indiana State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Owens and seized approximately one pound of methamphetamine with a purity level of 95 percent. On March 22, 2014, the Indiana State Police again arrested Owens with approximately two ounces of pure methamphetamine in her hotel room.

The conditions of supervised release subject Owens to random urinalysis and random searches of her person, vehicle, and residence by probation officers.

The case was investigated by the Indiana State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force.
