Activity in Federal Court – South Bend

SOUTH BEND, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

Benjamin Humes, 34, of the 29100 block of CR 4 West, Elkhart, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Robert Miller, Jr. to 21 months’ imprisonment and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an information charging him with bank fraud of Key Bank. Humes was ordered to pay $52,868.04 in restitution. This case was the result of an investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank Schaffer.

Janice E. Rauch, 51, of Niles, Michigan, was sentenced by Judge Robert Miller, Jr. to 30 months’ imprisonment and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging her with wire fraud. This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Barbara Brook.
