Activity in Federal Court – Hammond

HAMMOND, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

Nathaniel Worden, 29 (1/7/81), of the 200 block of Logan Street, Valparaiso, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Joseph Van Bokkelen to 420 months’ imprisonment and lifetime supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with advertising child pornography. At the time that he committed this offense, he was required to register as a sex offender. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jill Trumbull-Harris.

Antonio Swain Love, (5/22/72), of the 3200 block of West 31st Street, Gary, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Joseph Van Bokkelen to 33 months’ imprisonment and two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco, and Explosives. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Kolar.

Clarence Johnson, 26 (11/3/83), of Muncie, Indiana, was sentenced by Senior Judge Rudy Lozano to 96 months’ imprisonment and one year of supervised release after pleading guilty to counts 19s and 22s of an indictment charging him with use of a telephone in furtherance of a federal narcotics violation in the case U.S. v Robles et al. This case was a result of a joint investigation by the FBI Grit Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco, and Explosives, the Hammond Police Department, the Indiana State Police Department, the Muncie, Indiana Drug Task Force, and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys David J. Nozick and Jacqueline Jacobs.

Robert Selman, 58 (5/15/52), of the 900 block of Kouts Street, Kouts, Indiana, was sentenced by Senior Judge Rudy Lozano to 57 months’ imprisonment and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with possession of pseudoephedrine, knowing, or having reasonable cause to believe, that the listed chemical will be used to manufacture methamphetamine. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by Drug Enforcement Administration. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Nozick.

Bonnie Bol, 45 (3/15/65), of the 1800 block of Truman Street, Valparaiso, Indiana, was sentenced by Senior Judge Rudy Lozano to 37 months’ imprisonment and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging her with conspiracy to manufacture narcotics (methamphetamine). These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by Drug Enforcement Administration. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Nozick.

Nathaniel Jordan, 67 (12/17/42), of the 500 block of 43rd Street, Gary, Indiana, was sentenced by Chief Judge Philip Simon to 120 months’ imprisonment and eight years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of a superseding indictment charging him with possession with the intent to distribute heroin. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Chang-Adiga.

Angel Reyes-Palacios, (11/18/83), of Chicago, Illinois, plead guilty before Senior Judge James Moody to count one of an indictment charging re-entry of a deported alien. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Dean Lanter.

Tracy L. Brown, (7/10/65), of Marquette Street, Chicago, Illinois, plead guilty before Senior Judge James Moody to count one, two and six of an indictment charging her with conspiracy and social security fraud. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Toi Houston.

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
