  • Southern District of Indiana (317) 226-6333

Timothy M. Morrison, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, announced that THOMAS E. TUCKER, 44, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, was indicted by a federal grand jury sitting in Indianapolis for armed bank robbery and use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The indictment alleges that on April 21, 2009, TUCKER entered the First Bank branch in Poseyville, Indiana wearing a mask, pointed a firearm at bank tellers, ordered the tellers to give him the bank’s money, and removed approximately $25,900 from the Bank.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd S. Shellenbarger, who is prosecuting the case for the government, TUCKER faces a maximum possible prison sentence of 20 years for the bank robbery charge and life imprisonment for the use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence charge. An initial hearing will be scheduled before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Evansville, Indiana.

The indictment is an allegation only, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at trial or by guilty plea.
