CIO Azmi Emphasizes Importance of Information Sharing

On September 10, Chief Information Officer Zalmai Azmi was the closing keynote speaker at the Federal Computer Week Enterprise Architecture Conference and Exhibition in Washington, D.C.

More than 200 people attended the keynote luncheon to hear the CIO’s topic “From Data into Knowledge: Transforming Information at the FBI.” During his presentation, CIO Azmi discussed the FBI’s progressive stance on information sharing.

Afterwards members of the audience asked the CIO about how the FBI works collaboratively with other agencies as well as about how it has changed its organizational culture from one of protecting information to one of securely imparting it.

The three-day conference themed “Improving Organizational Performance with EA” brought enterprise architects from agencies throughout the D.C. area.
