
Forensic Scientist Supervisor (Toxicology)
Salary: $50,316 - $74,772

Qualifications include the following:
- PhD in toxicology or a physical science
- At least three years' experience in supervising a forensic toxicology laboratory
- Working knowledge of appropriate laboratory equipment (GC, GC/MS)
- Knowledge of personal computers and office equipment
- Additional experience in toxicology may be substituted for an advanced degree
- Valid Florida driver's license
Responsibilities include the following:
- Providing forensic toxicology services to the county medical examiner's office
- Operating a driving-under-the-influence blood alcohol program
- Performing analyses for an in-house preemployment and random urine drug-testing program
- Administers, supervises, and oversees the toxicology section of the forensic laboratory
- Overseeing annual budget, quality control operations, and ASCLD-LAB accreditation
- Testifying in court
- Preparing policy and procedure manuals
- Interacting with state attorney's office and other police agencies
- Lecturing at schools
- Interacting with other laboratories and the public
- Consulting with doctors and law enforcement personnel regarding general toxicology
