Forensic DNA Analyst / Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Trainer

This position is part of the technical service team that focuses on designing, implementing, supporting, and training of the laboratory information management system (LIMS).

Qualifications include the following:

• BS in biological science
• At least one year's laboratory experience using DNA techniques
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to laboratory staff
• Knowledge of ABI 310, 377, and 3100 genetic sequencers desired
• Training or teaching experience desirable

Responsibilities include the following:

• Performing DNA-profiling procedures on criminal casework samples
• Conducting DNA purification, PCR amplification, fluorescent DNA analysis, and other laboratory skills and techniques
• Providing training to new and existing scientific and administrative users of the LIMS system
• Updating and maintaining training documentation for LIMS
• Testifying in court as needed
