Specialized Forensic Science Training
Program: Year-End Update and
Planning for FY 2002
Jane M. Homeyer
Unit Chief
Forensic Science Training Unit
Federal Bureau of Investigation
Quantico, Virginia
The FBI's Forensic Science Training Unit mailed a training summary
to each participating law enforcement
agency on July 16, 2001, that provides a status report of applications
on file. The training summary includes the following:
- Students from the agency who have received
training during this fiscal year,
- Students selected to attend the upcoming
scheduled classes in the following list, and
- Students on the waiting list.
Agency managers will have an opportunity to
reallocate any slots that remain unused (i.e., on the waiting
list).
The July 16 mailing also includes student
surveys and host-site requirement forms that will be used to
determine class locations and rosters for classes during FY 2002.
The following class schedule for year-end
FY 2001 is for informational purposes, only. Please note that
additional applications are not being accepted for these classes.
Students selected for these classes will be (or have been) contacted
individually.
Forensic Science Training Unit personnel will
continue to schedule classes to satisfy the applications on file.
Follow-up schedules will be published in Forensic Science
Communications. Please continue to check each quarterly issue
for class information.
Thank you for your patience. Unit personnel
are striving to meet law enforcement agencies' training needs
and the unit's virtual academy and distance learning goals.
