Chromatogram of
DNA Sequence
The automated sequencing
instrument generates a chromatogram showing the emission of the
fluorescent dyes as they pass the detector in the instrument.
The order of these dyes corresponds to the order of the bases
in the DNA. Thus, a DNA sequence can be read straight from the
chromatogram.
