Microscopic Comparison
of Hairs
A primary visual analysis
is performed on hairs before they are analyzed in the FBI Laboratory
using a comparison microscope. Microscopic characteristics of
hairs from known sources are compared to hairs from questioned
sources to determine if they can be associated with each other.
