Thomas Sully

A painting by Thomas Sully was stolen in February of 2000 from the first floor exhibition area of the Valentine Museum, Richmond, Virginia. The painting is a portrait of Francis Keeling Valentine Allan, stepmother of Edgar Allan Poe. The oil painting on tin is mounted on an oak panel and measures approximately 10" x 8 1/2". The artwork dates between 1800 - 1815.
