Books and Scrolls
On March 14, 2000,
staff at the Harvard-Yeching Library, Cambridge,
Massachusetts, reported the theft of forty-one rare
Chinese books and two scrolls from the Rare Book
Room. The books, covering a variety of topics, date
from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Quing Periods of
Chinese history (960 to 1911 A.D.)
