Theft Notices & Recoveries

The Art Theft Notices displayed on the FBI web site constitute only a partial listing of the objects registered on the National Stolen Art File. All requests for searches of the National Stolen Art File must be made through a law enforcement agency.

On August 8, 2001, a private residence in Madrid, Spain, was robbed of more than 20 paintings and sculptures including works by Francisco Goya, Camille Pissaro, and the Japanese artist Foujita. Below are descriptions of the stolen works of art and links to their pictures for identification purposes.
