The FBI and the Pearland Department need your help in identifying the man who robbed the First Convenience Bank located at 7121 West Broadway in Pearland, Texas earlier today. Investigators believe the robber is the same man who robbed the Associated Credit Union of Texas (ACU Texas) Credit Union on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Photos from both robberies can be found below.

At approximately 9:25 a.m., the man walked up to the counter and handed a teller a letter-sized manila envelope. The bank robber told the teller to fill the envelope with cash. He threatened the teller that she was being watched, then lifted his shirt to reveal a pistol packed in his waistband. The teller gave the robber some cash. He left the bank. No one was physically hurt. There is no known vehicle description to release at this time.

The bank robber is described as a black male in his forties, approximately 5’8” tall, with a stocky build. Witnesses said he had a dark colored mark under his left eye and he spoke with an accent, possibly from Africa. The robber wore a blue jean jacket and dark colored pants.

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber, or any felony suspect. If you have information about this crime, please call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 713-222-TIPS (8477), the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000, or the Pearland Police Department at 281-997-4100.
