Bank Robber Concentrating on FM 1960 Corridor Robs Fourth Bank Today

The FBI Houston Bank Robbery Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who is believed to have robbed four banks on FM 1960 within the last two months.  His most recent robbery took place this morning at 10 a.m. at the Amegy Bank located at 4911 FM 1960 West in Houston. 

The suspect entered the bank, announced that he was committing a robbery, and lifted his tee shirt to expose a semi automatic handgun in his waistband.  He demanded cash, and placed it into a black binder that he carried with him into the bank.  He left the bank on foot.

This suspect is linked by investigators to three other bank robberies on FM 1960: Chase Bank, 6910 FM 1960, robbed on 9/11/2009, Chase Bank, 7611 FM 1960, robbed on 9/24/2009, and Chase Bank, 4165 FM 1960, robbed on 10/14/2009. 

Witnesses to today’s robbery describe the robber as a black male, mid 30’s, 6’00” to 6’01” tall, 230-250 pounds, and athletic build.  He was wearing a blue tee shirt and beige baseball cap and carried a silver semi-automatic handgun.
