“Grandma Bandit” Robs Two Area Banks Today

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an older woman who robbed two Compass Bank branches today. The bank’s security camera’s captured good photographs of the older woman who is being nick-named the “GRANDMA BANDIT” because of her age.

At Approximately 12:40 p.m., the woman robbed the Compass Bank located at 1217 West 43rd Street in Houston, Texas. About an hour later, at 1:40 p.m., she’s suspected of robbing the Compass Bank located at 204 West 19th Street in Houston, Texas. During both robberies, the “Grandma Bandit” immediately walked up to the teller counters, threatened to have a gun and demanded money. She got away with cash in both robberies. No one was physically hurt during either robbery.

The “Grandma Bandit” is described as a white female, approximately 55-65 years old, 5’2” – 5’7” tall, with a large build. She had shoulder-length gray hair and wore glasses. During the robbery, she wore a camouflage cap, blue jean shorts, and a purple shirt with purple feathers on the front.
