FBI and Texas DPS Agents Shut Down Drug Trafficking Operation

FBI Special Agent in Charge David Cuthbertson and Texas Department of Public Safety Regional Commander Skylor Hearn announced the arrest of four individuals based on a federal complaint in connection with a major drug trafficking operation in the El Paso/Juarez corridor. Those arrested on Thursday, July 07, 2011 were: MARIA HOLGUIN DE PEREZ, 42 years old, JORGE RODRIGUEZ-CARO, 46 years old, JUAN CARLOS CHACON-VALDEZ, 40 years old, and TERESA DE JESUS GUILLEN LARA, 33 years old. HOLGUIN DE PEREZ and RODRIGUEZ-CARO were arrested at a residence in Horizon City, Texas without incident. CHACON-VALDEZ and GUILLEN LARA were already in custody on unrelated federal charges. All four of the individuals arrested will be charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to import and distribute cocaine. They are being held at the El Paso County Detention Facility pending an initial appearance. 
 
This case was a joint operation with FBI agents and Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division agents and officers.
