U.S. Attorney’s Office May 10, 2011
  • Western District of Texas (210) 384-7100

United States Attorney John E. Murphy and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge David Cuthbertson, El Paso Division, announced that in El Paso, 32-year-old Alejandro Fierro was sentenced to five years in federal prison followed by 10 years of supervised release for possession of child pornography.

Based on information provided by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan concerning the electronic transmission of a computer file which contained child pornography, FBI agents and El Paso Police detectives executed a search warrant on August 20, 2010, at a location where the defendant resided. During the search, investigators confiscated the defendant’s computer as well as other computer-related media. A forensics examination of the confiscated items revealed the presence of approximately 37 images and 62 videos depicting child pornography.

On March 24, 2011, Fierro pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.

This case was investigated by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation together with the El Paso Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney J. Brandy Gardes prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
