FBI Seeking Public’s Assistance Identifying Individual(s) Who Damaged a Clinic

Special Agent in Charge Andrew G. Arena announced today that the FBI is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual(s) suspected in leaving a suspicious package outside of the Summit Women’s Center in Detroit, Michigan.

Sometime after 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2011 and before 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011, a package was left at Summit Women’s Center located at 15801 West McNicols Road, Detroit, Michigan (please see below picture of the clinic). The object caused damage to the building.

The damage to the building may constitute a violation of the FACE Act, a civil rights violation. The 1994 Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act makes it a federal crime to injure, intimidate, or interfere with those seeking to obtain or provide reproductive health care services.
