Formation of Oakland County Violent Gang Task Force Announced

Oakland County Violent Gang Task Force (OCVGTF) Special Agent in Charge Andrew G. Arena, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Detroit, Michigan, announces the formation of the Oakland County Violent Gang Task Force (OCVGTF).

Agencies who are participants in the OCVGTF include the Auburn Hills Police Department, Bloomfield Township Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Corrections, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Pontiac Police Department, Waterford Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office and United States Attorney’s Office have pledged their support in prosecuting matters brought forth by the OCVGTF. Officials from each participating agency met on Tuesday, January 13, 2009.

The overall mission of the OCVGTF is to identify and target for prosecution violent criminal enterprises that operate in and around the Oakland County area.. The OCVGTF is a joint venture to enhance the effectiveness of Federal, State, and Local law enforcement resources through a well coordinated initiative seeking the most effective investigative and prosecutorial avenues by which to convict and incarcerate dangerous offenders.
