Wyoming Man Sentenced for Assault of a Spouse by Strangling

U.S. Attorney for the District of Wyoming Christopher A. Crofts announced that on November 20, 2014, Jameson Kaulaity, a 28-year-old Northern Arapaho Tribal member, was sentenced by United States District Judge Scott W. Skavdahl to 15 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years’ supervised release, and a $100 special assessment. Mr. Kaulaity will be required to surrender to the United States Bureau of Prisons to begin serving his sentence on January 5, 2015. He previously pled guilty to one count of assault of a spouse by strangling in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 113(a)(8) and 1153. The charge against Mr. Kaulaity stemmed from an incident that occurred on January 29, 2014 on the Wind River Indian Reservation.
