The Denver and Aurora Police Departments, along with the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force, are investigating two bank robberies believed to have been committed by the same individual.

10401 East Colfax Avenue
Aurora, Colorado
June 2, 2014, 2:28 p.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 40s, approximately 5’11” to 6’1” in height, with a medium build.

The suspect entered the bank armed with what appears to be a machine gun or rifle.

Witnesses observed a possible explosive device strapped to the suspect’s waist.

The suspect fled the area in a 1996 to 2001 white Ford Expedition or Explorer.

This individual is considered armed and dangerous—do not approach and notify law enforcement immediately.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
