James David Tiner Captured

The FBI Denver Division would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in identifying the whereabouts of James David Tiner.

After seeing the publicity given to accused sexual assault suspect James David Tiner, citizens from Garfield County, Colorado provided tips to law enforcement that led to his arrest.

Late on Friday, December 21, 2012, law enforcement officers from the New Castle Police Department received tips from concerned citizens regarding the possible location of Tiner.

Tiner and his vehicle were identified, and after a short pursuit, law enforcement personnel from the New Castle Police Department, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, and FBI apprehended Tiner at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012.

Tiner is being held on a no bond warrant in the Garfield County Detention Facility for the Palisade Police Department.

No court date has been set in this case.
