The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is looking for a man who is suspected of robbing 17 area banks since December 31, 2012.

The most recent robbery occurred on Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Capital One Bank located at 200 N. Mesquite #121 in Arlington, Texas. The suspect entered the bank with a weapon drawn, verbally demanded cash, and received an undisclosed amount of money. He drove away from the bank in a dark blue Dodge Caravan.

The robber may have sustained chemical burns during the most recent robbery; his clothing, skin, and the driver’s side of the dark blue van may have been dyed red. He may have also sustained chemical burns during the robbery that occurred on January 31, 2013, at Capital One Bank in Dallas, Texas.

A composite drawing was prepared based on a witness description of the man before he pulled on the full coverage mask that gave him the moniker the “Mesh Mask Bandit.” The robber is described as a Hispanic male with a dark complexion, 37 to 43 years old, 5’7” to 6’2” tall, with a medium to large build; he has dark hair and dark eyes and may wear a mustache and goatee. Digital billboards showing an image of the suspect and getaway vehicle are on display throughout the metroplex.
