FBI Seeks Mesh Mask Bandit
Suspect May Be Responsible for Nine Recent Metroplex Bank Robberies

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is looking for a man who may have robbed nine banks since December 31, 2012.

In each instance, the armed man, wearing a tight black mesh mask, ran into the bank, approached the counter with a weapon drawn, verbally demanded cash, and ran away from the bank after receiving an undisclosed amount of money. No one has been physically harmed.

The robber is described as a black or Hispanic male, 5’7” to 6’2” tall, with a medium to large build. Despite his features being completely obscured by the mesh mask, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, and gloves, authorities believe that several clues will help to identify him:

• The robber may have sustained chemical burns during the robbery that occurred on January 31, 2013, at Capital One Bank in Dallas. His clothing and skin may have also been dyed red.
• In several robberies, bank surveillance photos show him wearing a large watch on his left wrist and a distinctive hat.
