Bank Robber Sentenced to More Than Six Years in Federal Prison
Defendant Robbed Two Banks in 10 Days

DALLAS—Roland Johnson, 46, of Dallas, was sentenced this afternoon by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis to 74 months in federal prison for robbing banks in Fort Worth and Dallas in December 2009, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas.

Johnson admitted committing the following bank robberies:

December 18, 2009 Guaranty Bank
1689 Eastchase Parkway, Fort Worth

December 28, 2009 Regions Bank
1111 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas

A witness at the Regions Bank robbery saw Johnson get into a silver vehicle and wrote down the license plate number. Johnson was arrested on December 29, 2009 after his vehicle was located in a hotel parking lot approximately one mile south of Regions Bank.

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Kull.
