Former Longview Bank Teller Sentenced for Theft

TYLER, TX—U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 35-year-old Ore City, Texas woman has been sentenced to federal prison for bank larceny violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
STEPHANIE PUCKETT pleaded guilty on Sep. 8, 2009, to an Information charging her with bank larceny by a bank employee and was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis. Puckett was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $209,200.
According to information presented in court, from 2005 to January 2008, Puckett was employed as head bank teller for City National Bank in Longview, Texas. During this time, she knowingly took over $120,000 in currency from the bank.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Coan.
