Greenville Man Faces Federal Drug Charges

COLUMBIA, SC—Acting United States Attorney Kevin F. McDonald stated today that Shawn Demetrius White, age 35, of Greenville, South Carolina, was charged in a two-count federal indictment with possession and distribution of crack cocaine, a violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1).

The maximum penalty White could receive is a fine of $4,000,000.00 and imprisonment of life.

Mr. McDonald stated that the case was investigated by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, and that he has assigned the case to Assistant United States Attorney Jeanne Howard of the Greenville office for prosecution.

The United States Attorney stated that all charges in this indictment are merely accusations and that all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
