Suspect Arrested in Connection with Armed Bank Robbery

Stephen D. Anthony, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), for the Northern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Aaron Fortier.

An arrest warrant was issued for Fortier on November 2, 2012, pursuant to a search warrant executed at his residence located at 23 Orchard Lane, Wellington, Ohio.

Fortier is the suspect in the October 23, 2012 armed bank robbery of Sun Center Federal Credit Union located at 805 Patriot Drive in Wellington, Ohio.

This case was investigated by the Cleveland FBI’s Elyria Resident Agency and the Wellington Police Department and will be prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Ohio.

The commission of a bank robbery can carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years’ incarceration. An arrest warrant is based upon an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent of the charges until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
