Keith L. Bennett, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Cincinnati Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Thomas H. Streicher, Jr., Chief of Police, Cincinnati Police Department (CPD), announced today that three men have been federally charged in the March 25, 2009 shooting at Pasadena Avenue where assailants fired multiple rounds into the car of an FBI agent.

Sealed federal complaints, filed yesterday and today, in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio, charge Robert Coker, age 25; Deante Martell, age 23; and Kenny Davis, age 43; with violating Title 18, U.S. Code Section 111, Assault of a Federal Officer. Maximum punishment for a violation of this statute is 20 years imprisonment. Coker and Davis were arrested on Friday March 27, 2009 and Monday March 30, 2009 respectively by CPD officers and FBI agents. Both were initially charged with Felonious Assault under Ohio State Law. Martell remains at large.

Deante Martell is described as a black male, 5’5” tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Two photographs of Martell are attached

Martell should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. He and Coker are accused of firing as many as 24 shots at an FBI vehicle. Members of the public should not approach him but should immediately contact their local police department, the FBI at 513 421-4310, or Crimestoppers at 513 352-3040. The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in this shooting.

THE PUBLIC IS REMINDED THAT A COMPLAINT IS MERELY AN ACCUSATION AND ALL INDIVIDUALS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE INNOCENT UNTIL CONVICTED IN A COURT OF LAW.
