FBI Seeks Help in Search for Pick-a-Logo Bandit

The FBI is asking for assistance from the public in identifying and locating an armed bank robber suspected of carrying out three recent heists at Chicago-area U.S. Bank locations. Robert J. Holley, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Field Office of the FBI, announced today that a reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the robber dubbed the Pick-a-Logo Bandit.

The robber earned his moniker by wearing a variety of jackets, each with a different logo on the front. The Pick-a-Logo Bandit first struck on November 28, 2014, at the U.S. Bank branch located at 3525 West 63rd Street in Chicago. At approximately 2:50 p.m. on that day, a robber entered the bank, approached a bank employee to make a demand for money, and lifted his jacket in a manner that led the bank employee to believe he had a weapon under the jacket. At the same location on the morning of January 3, 2015, a robber matching the description of the individual from the prior robbery and operating in a similar manner, this time lifting his jacket and revealing a handgun tucked in his waistband. The Pick-a-Logo Bandit’s latest robbery occurred February 27, 2015, when he ventured outside of Chicago to rob the U.S. Bank branch located at 4062 Southwest Highway in Hometown, Illinois. During the Hometown robbery, the robber took a gun from his waistband and pointed it in the direction of the bank employee from whom he demanded money. To date, there have been no physical injuries reported in connection with the robberies.

The Pick-a-Logo Bandit is described by witnesses as a male, black, 25-30 years old with a thin build, and he has worn a variety of hats during the heists. He is considered armed and dangerous.

 

 

Anyone recognizing the Pick-a-Logo Bandit or having information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at (312) 421-6700 or local police. This case is being investigated by the FBI in coordination with local authorities.
