Attempted Robbery of Charter One Bank Branch in Alsip

FBI agents responded to an attempted take-over bank robbery that occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m. on February 25, 2013, at the Charter One Bank branch located at 12004 South Pulaski in Alsip. Witnesses stated a total of four men were involved in the incident today. As two of the men waited in the customer line, two more entered the bank. The four announced a robbery to the customers and bank employees, and one man jumped over the teller counter in an attempt to get to money. Shortly thereafter, believing that law enforcement had been alerted, the four fled the bank empty-handed. There was no mention of weapons during the attempted robbery, nor did any of the four men display a weapon. There were no injuries reported.
