Reward Offered in Search for Missing Westmont Man

On the five-year anniversary of the disappearance of a Westmont, Illinois man, a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to his whereabouts, announced Robert D. Grant, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Mr. Grant is joined today by Thomas R. Mulhearn, Chief of the Westmont Police Department (WPD), in announcing this reward and appealing to the public for any information which might lead to the location of ANTHONY ZIZZO.

ZIZZO, who was 71 years old when he disappeared, was last seen by his wife as he left their suburban Westmont townhome on the morning of August 31, 2006. His vehicle, a 2005 Jeep Cherokee, was discovered two days later, parked outside a restaurant in Melrose Park. The vehicle was undamaged and no signs of foul play were noted. A subsequent canvass of the neighborhood near where the vehicle was discovered failed to locate any witnesses who saw ZIZZO arrive, or could offer any information as to his actions that day. There has been no reported use of either his cellular telephone or credit cards since August 31, 2006 and no reported sightings or contacts by him from either family or friends.

ZIZZO has an extensive criminal record, including a 1993 conviction on racketeering charges for which he was sentenced to eight years in prison and was released in 2001. ZIZZO is a known associate of the Chicago La Cosa Nostra crime family and his disappearance might be related to this association.

ZIZZO is described as a white/male, 5’3” tall, 200 pounds, heavy build, with grey hair and blue eyes. He wears prescription eyeglasses and requires daily medication for a chronic medical condition.
