  • Special Agent Garrett Croon (312) 829-1199

The Standard Bank branch, located at 7201 W. Ogden Avenue in Lyons, was robbed earlier today by a lone individual, described as a Hispanic male,” 5’6 to 5’9” tall, stocky build, wearing a white T-shirt with multi-colored shorts, red ball cap with sunglasses.

According to witnesses, the robber entered the bank just after 10:00 a.m., approached the teller, and tendered a note announcing a robbery. He was armed with a black handgun, which he displayed to bank employees. After being given an undisclosed amount of money, the robber fled on foot, last seen running west in an adjacent alley towards Powell Avenue.

Bank surveillance photos of the robber are below. No injuries were reported during the robbery. The Lyons Police and FBI are investigating.
