$10,000 Reward Offered for Arrest of Latin King Fugitive

FBI Chicago January 13, 2009
  • Special Agent Garrett Croon (312) 829-1199

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today that a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the location and arrest of FERNANDO VAZQUEZ, age 25, whose last known address was 3157 South Keeler in Chicago.

VAZQUEZ has been the subject of a nationwide manhunt, coordinated by Chicago FBI’s Joint Task Force on Gangs (JTFG), since September of this year, when he was charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago with violation of federal drug and firearms laws.

VAZQUEZ is alleged to be a member of the Latin Kings street gang and is charged with overseeing the distribution of cocaine at various locations throughout the City of Chicago. VAZQUEZ was among 40 gang members and associates charged as the result of an investigation code named “Operation Pesadilla,” which targeted the leadership of the notorious street gang. VAZQUEZ is one of only four defendants from this case who is still at large.

VAZQUEZ, who is also known as “Pac Man,” is described as a Hispanic/male, 25 years of age, 5’9” tall, medium build, weighing approximately 180 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes with a slight mustache and goatee. There is a tattoo of a crown on his left shoulder and a rosary on his neck.

Anyone recognizing VAZQUEZ or having any information as to his current whereabouts is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700.

The Chicago FBI’s Joint Task Force on Gangs is comprised of FBI special agents and officers from the Chicago Police Department, Gang Crimes Unit.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
