Ohio Man Sentenced on Drug Charges

ROCHESTER, NY—U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Steven Boffman, 53, of Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced to 53 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Everardo A. Rodriguez, who handled the case, stated that Boffman was indicted in August 2010 along with seven others for their participation in a marijuana distribution organization responsible for the large scale distribution of marijuana in Rochester and Columbus, Ohio. Three of the co-defendants in the case, Andrew Wright, Richard Anderson, and Aston Johnson, were convicted in December 4, 2013, of murdering three men in Greece, New York, in furtherance of the marijuana conspiracy.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the Greece Police Department, under the direction of Chief Todd Baxter; the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Brian P. Boetig; the New York State Police, under the direction of Major Mark Koss; Immigration of Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of James C. Spero; and the Rochester Police Department, under the direction of Acting Chief Michael Ciminelli.
