Honeoye Falls Man Sentenced in Drug Trafficking Case

ROCHESTER, NY—U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Thomas M. O’Brien, Jr., 54, of Honeoye Falls, New York, who was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and distribution of cocaine and marijuana, was sentenced to six months of home confinement and three years’ probation by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brett A. Harvey, who handled the case, stated that between June 12, 2008, and October 4, 2008, the defendant obtained approximately 45 grams of cocaine and 500 grams of marijuana from his supplier in Rochester, and distributed the drugs to others in the Western District of New York.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Christopher M. Piehota.
