  • Western District of New York (716) 843-5700

BUFFALO, NY—U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Miles J. Fisher, 63, of New York City, was arraigned in U.S. District Court on a two-count federal Indictment charging him with making a threat and conveying false information in connection with a bomb hoax. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert C Moscati, who is handling the case, stated that the Indictment charges Fisher with placing a call to the "Paladino for the People" campaign headquarters in the Ellicott Square Building on April 13, 2010 and stating he was "going to bomb all of you." The call was reported to 911 and Buffalo Police and Fire responded, evacuating over 700 people from the building.

The Indictment is the result of an investigation on the part of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, which includes special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge James H. Robertson and the Buffalo Police Department under the direction of Commissioner Daniel Derenda.
