Kenmore Man Pleads Guilty in Marijuana Case

BUFFALO, NY—U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Jeremie Jones, 29, of Kenmore, New York, pled guilty before Chief U.S. District Court Judge William M. Skretny to utilizing a telephone to commit a drug offense. The charge carries a maximum penalty of four years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Assistant U.S. Attorney John E. Rogowski, who handled the case, stated that Jones admitted that in April, 2004, he engaged in telephone conversations which involved the sale of kilogram quantities of marijuana. The defendant further admitted that he was involved in discussions concerning the sale of up to 2.5 kilograms of marijuana. The plea is the culmination of an investigation on the part of special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James H. Robertson.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 25, 2011, at 9:00 a.m., in Buffalo, New York, in front of Chief Judge Skretny.
