FBI Announces 10th Street Gang Indictments/Arrests

FBI Buffalo September 23, 2010
  • Buffalo Press Office (716) 843-5265

Today, James H. Robertson, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Buffalo Field Office, announces the indictment of 27 individuals by a federal grand jury resulting in the issuance and execution of 13 federal arrest warrants; 14 of the indicted individuals were already incarcerated on related charges. The 62-count indictment includes RICO charges and four unique forfeiture allegations.

The indictment stems from a long-term, joint investigation by the FBI Buffalo Division Safe Streets Task Force into the criminal activities of the members and associates of the 10th Street Gang. The indictment details acts of murder, attempted murder, robbery and assault, narcotics violations, firearms offenses, and witness intimidation by members of the gang.

The defendants had initial appearances yesterday in front of the Honorable United States Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder, Jr. This matter will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joseph M. Tripi, under the direction of United States Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr.

Michael Bobbitt remains a fugitive; his photo is below.

It should be noted that the fact that an individual has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the individual is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
