Defendant Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

BOSTON—DENNIS BILOTTA, 68, of Fitchburg, was charged today in an indictment with one count of possession of child pornography. The indictment alleges that on or about November 6, 2008, BILOTTA knowingly possessed images of child pornography.

If convicted of this charge, BILOTTA faces up to 10 years' imprisonment to be followed by a minimum five years to life of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.

United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz and Richard DesLauriers, Special Agent in Charge fo the Federal Bureau of Investigation - Boston Field Division made the announcement today. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mark J. Grady and David Hennessy of Ortiz's Worcester Branch Office.

The details contained in the indictment are allegations. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
