U.S. Attorney’s Office March 07, 2011
  • District of Massachusetts (617) 748-3100

BOSTON—An Ayer man was charged today in federal court via criminal complaint with production, distribution, and possession of child pornography.

United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz and Richard DesLauriers, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Field Division, announced today that THOMAS A. DONAHUE, 44, was charged in a complaint with production of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography. An arrest warrant has been issued for Donahue, who is presently a fugitive.

The complaint alleges that between March of 2010 and February of 2011, Donahue produced child pornography, distributed child pornography, and possessed child pornography. If convicted on these charges, Donahue faces up to 50 years in prison, to be followed by supervised release for not less than five years and up to life, and a $250,000 fine.

The case was investigated by FBI, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Cory Flashner and David Hennessy of Ortiz's Worcester Branch Office Unit.

The details contained in the complaint are allegations. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
