Sanford Man Sentenced on Federal Bank Robbery Charges

Portland, Maine: United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Dane Bosley, age 22, of Sanford, Maine was sentenced today in U.S. District Court by U.S. District Court Judge D. Brock Hornby to 32 months in prison to be followed by 3 years of supervised release. On August 4, 2010, the defendant pled guilty to a federal bank robbery charge.

According to court documents, on February 25, 2010, the defendant robbed the Maine Bank and Trust in Sanford, Maine. He approached a teller, displayed what appeared to be a firearm, and demanded that tellers had 45 seconds to give him $25,000 or he would start shooting. The defendant escaped with about $3,600 in cash.

The investigation was conducted by the Sanford Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
