“PJ Bandit” Serial Bank Robber Believed Responsible for Eight Bank Robberies

FBI Boston December 16, 2009

BOSTON, MA—The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is releasing photographs and seeking the public’s assistance to help identify the individual believed responsible for the following eight bank robberies:

BROOKLINE, MA

FIRST TRADE CREDIT UNION
753 EAST BROADWAY
SOUTH BOSTON, MA
11/18/09 at 1:30 p.m.

BRIDGEWATER CREDIT UNION
62 CLAY STREET
QUINCY, MA
11/24/09 at 2:40 p.m.

CITIZENS BANK
315 HARVARD STREET
BROOKLINE, MA
11/30/09 at 12:15 p.m.

PEOPLES FEDERAL SAVINGS
264 WASHINGTON STREET
BROOKLINE, MA

In seven of the robberies, the subject has passed a note threatening the use of a gun. In one robbery, a small black handgun was displayed. In several of the robberies, the subject is seen using a black and silver cell phone and carrying a dark colored messenger bag/lap-top bag.

Witnesses describe the subject as:

Race/Gender:   Black Male
Age:  Mid 30’s
Height: 5’6” – 5’8”
Weight:  Medium build, 165 to 190 lbs
Hair:  Brown
Facial Hair: Thin goatee
Misc:  Periodically wears wire rim style glasses
Has worn either a baseball style cap or dark knit cap
Has worn either a dark puffy jacket or brown/tan coat
