U.S. Attorney’s Office December 01, 2009
  • Northern District of Alabama (205) 244-2001

BIRMINGHAM—A federal grand jury today indicted MYRON WILLIAM ERNST for the July 7, 2008, robbery of a Regions Bank in Huntsville, announced U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance and FBI Special Agent in Charge Patrick J. Maley.

The indictment filed today at U.S. District Court in Birmingham charges Ernst, 51, with one count of bank robbery. The maximum sentence for the charge is 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. If convicted of the robbery count, the indictments seeks to have Ernst forfeit $2,000 to the government as proceeds of the crime.

Special agents of the FBI investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela Redmond Debro is prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States.

Members of the public are reminded that the indictment contains only charges. A defendant is presumed innocent of the charges and it will be the government’s burden to prove a defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
