FBI Fugitive on the Run for Kidnapping Believed to be in Ohio Region

The FBI and Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office believe a man wanted for kidnapping his son and fleeing the state of Maryland may be in the Ohio region of the U.S.

Investigators recently received information about Reuben Bennett Blackwell, II and are now asking for the public’s help. Blackwell is wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in Maryland for kidnapping his then 3-year-old son Reuben Bennett Blackwell, III, who may now go by the name Bennett.

At the time of his disappearance, Blackwell was described as a black man, about 6’4” tall, weighing around 270 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair with gray at his temples. Blackwell is wanted for abducting his son in May 1996 and obstruction of the lawful exercise of parental custody held by the mother. Blackwell threatened to kill his son at the time of the abduction.
