Bank Robber Sentenced to Over Six Years in Prison

BALTIMORE—U.S. District Judge James K. Bredar sentenced Larry McKnight, age 48, of Baltimore, Maryland, today to 81 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for bank robbery.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Acting Special Agent in Charge Timothy P. Groh of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Chief James W. Johnson of the Baltimore County Police Department; and Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger.
According to his guilty plea, on November 14, 2011, McKnight entered the Bank of America located at 2827 Smith Avenue in Towson, Maryland, and demanded money. The teller handed him $1,101, and McKnight fled.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the FBI, Baltimore County Police Department, and Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office for their work in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant United States Attorney James G. Warwick, who prosecuted the case.
