Repeat Bank Robber Sentenced to Over Four Years in Prison

BALTIMORE, MD—U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr. sentenced Terron Moore, age 25, of Felton, Pennsylvania, today to 51 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for bank robbery, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. Since Moore was on supervised release at the time of the March 2009 bank robbery, Judge Quarles imposed 15 months' imprisonment, concurrent to this sentence, to be followed by 21 months of supervised release, for violating his supervised release. The 21 months of supervised release is consecutive to the three years imposed in this case.

According to Moore’s plea agreement, he was previously convicted of a Maryland bank robbery, and admitted guilt in four other Maryland bank robberies at that time. Moore was released from federal prison in January of 2009. On March 24, 2009, Moore entered the Super Fresh Grocery Store located at 8905 Belair Road in Perry Hall. Moore walked into the Provident Bank in the grocery store and approached a bank teller’s window, stating words to the effect of: “This is a robbery. Don’t give me any dye packs. Give me all the money out of your drawer.” The victim teller, fearing for her safety, complied with Moore’s demands and provided him with $12,813.

Moore ran from the bank with money flying from his pockets and was observed getting into a white pickup truck with Pennsylvania tags. Officers responding to the scene saw a white pickup truck with Pennsylvania tags driven by an individual matching the general description of the robber and conducted a traffic stop. Officers saw money sticking out of the vehicle’s glove box, and opened the glove box to find it full of approximately $11,396 in cash. Clothing used during the robbery was also recovered from the truck, including the same baseball hat, sunglasses, and black jacket that bank surveillance cameras captured Moore wearing during the robbery. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Moore, was arrested. An additional $180 was recovered from Moore, and $1,100 was recovered from the parking lot of the Superfresh Grocery and Provident Bank, where Moore had been seen running.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Baltimore County Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their investigative work. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel M. Yasser, who prosecuted the case.
